There was a notification at UK Column News written by someone who having met Mr Crane at his home some years ago, described him as someone ”surrounded by shelves of thick books most of which he had read.” I am not surprised. I liked the man very much & I also appreciated his formidable intellect. He just used to phone you up personally about stuff as well. Quite extraordinary.
This piece further said that Mr Crane later divested himself of his possessions and began a life in a caravan, campaigning against those who wished to frack the heart of this wonderful island – a campaign which he pretty much won against certain ”vested interests.” The company Cuadrilla springs to mind. In 2020 it is said that ”tight UK Government Legislation” was the reason behind the company’s decision to relinquish part of its Lancashire fracking licence. Oh Really? Mr Crane was the Bête Noire that actually finished them off but BBC would never admit it.
It was also mentioned that Mr Crane built and ran quite a successful yearly Conference called ”Alternative View,” which was attended over the years, by enlightened thinkers from all over the UK as well as from abroad.
All in all it has to be said that Mr Crane contributed greatly to the benefit of a country he really loved & he did it all without the aid of a Parliamentary Salary & a fat expenses account! He just used his natural intelligence.
He is sadly missed but we who are left, must pick up the gauntlet now and carry on his excellent work.
