The Missing Glencore Comments

‘Until it went public in May 2011, Glencore was a private company founded four decades ago by Marc Rich, “a defiant friend of dictators and spies,” who was pardoned in 2001 by President Bill Clinton from an 18-year-old indictment for illegally trading with Iran, among other things.

In the 1980s, Rich made millions buying oil from Iran during the hostage crisis, selling oil to the apartheid regime in South Africa and orchestrating oil-for-uranium deals between Iran, South Africa and the Soviet Union. While Rich is no longer with Glencore, his modus operandi lives on – doing business with developing countries where “many multinationals fear to tread.”’

Well this is the second external link to be scrubbed.  Someone is sensitive about Glencore’s reputation then.  Over to you now.  Keep digging.
