“Something is very suspicious about this story. Around 6:50 p.m., a dark-colored vehicle pulled up to the entrance an officer and school district security guard were blocking at the Muhammed cartoon contest in Garland, Texas. Two heavily armed men stepped out of the vehicle wearing body armor. Moments later the men opened fire with a pair of AK-47s on the officer and his vehicle. A nearby S.W.A.T. Team responded within minutes of hearing the gunfire, however the officer (armed with nothing more than a .45 caliber Glock pistol,) is the only man left standing by the time they arrive. It’s likely the officer was wearing body armor, but an AK-47s round at that range would have easily penetrated his vest that was designed to protect against direct small-arms fire.”
