Jeff this was always the case, the EU have to agree the withdrawal agreement. The problem they have is simple, they either agree to the agreement they have already signed with us or not. If not we leave under WTO if they do then they have to understand they have lost control as we no longer function under the EU treaties. The new treaty is not tested under law so could lead to argument. The EU is losing control so they will pursue regulation and policy to delay any function, that policy and or regulation is still active under the ECJ. This is the whole reason why the withdrawal agreement is flawed.

Do you remember our allies: India, USA, Canada, Australia NZ (+ island states), Japan, Philippines, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, then we have the EU. Negotiations will stop as soon as we tell the e.u. that they can no longer fish our waters, so, for this and other sensitive issues, another year is a waste of time. Leaving at the end of January, w.t.o. style will clarify issues that need to be resolved, and if the e.u. want to play hardball it will be at their expense as well as ours. Once we are out I think Trump will hit them with tarrifs as well which should encourage focus on mutual benefit. (edited)

I’d say the signs went up because the firm was more than happy to be paid to put them up and take them Down if not needed as long as they are paid they would put them up and down ten times... I wonder who owns the contract here…. Just like who ever owns the chauffeur business transporting all the e.u parasites is probably one of their friends and they are more than happy to overcharge for ferrying round the scum and probably adding loads of trips on top to maximise profit… so if a taxi from London to Essex costs £60 for a normal person I bet they charge £600 for the same distance under the e.u wealth drawing scam

@andrew eeles the EU already took most of our industry off us via grants for companies to move into mainland europe, now they want our military and the engineering jobs that are tied to it, it was their directive that closed our coal mines, stopped us dredging rivers therefore we get more flooding, stole our fishing waters from us and gave us tiny quot’s that made the fishermen throw back anything over that ……………… and many more things

If the treatment of your fisheries serves as any indication, the EU would only regard the latest statements as the usual, useful smoke and mirrors political banter. The hard line means nothing — where your politicians intend on passing just more of the same: ie, a thoroughly compromised deal.

@Christine Knight Cor. That was a very informed and well stated outburst. I like the idea of the stocks myself. I wouldn’t throw my rotten tomatoes.
