Green Benches Research has reported on a number of serious issues but the most damaging is the outbreak of a serious infection on one of the floors due to their sacking of essential cleaning staff. Anyone running wards, must know that those dedicated souls who clean the wards are worth their weight in GOLD. Especially when wards are extremely busy and patients are coming and going 24/7.
In addition, Hinchingbrooke has had to ask the NHS for a £4m advance as it is short of funds. I thought the Tory dogma suggested that as soon as the NHS went into private ownership, that services would improve and costs would go down. Hmmm …..
Here’s Dr Eoin Clarke’s Graph

Hinchingbrooke has lost £4.1 Million and we’re supposed to believe NHS is ‘better off’ now after Tory Legislation. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cambridgeshire-20087078

Tories handed Circle Health Hinchingbrooke NHS Hospital despite knowing
- Circle Health warned the Tory government in advance that they would sack 20% of Hinchingbrooke’s 1,600 staff.
- Circle Health made no guarantees to pay the historic £40m deficit of the hospital back.
- Circle Health obtained advanced permission to flog the estate of Hinchingbrooke Hospital.
- Circle Health built their entire business case on increasing the levels of private patients treated at the hospital, while simultaneously reducing the use of the hospital by NHS patients.
- NHS Trusts were involved in two of the other bids but the Tories opted for a fully private solution.
- Circle are allowed to keep 100% of the profits made up to the first £2m every year.
- Crucially, those evaluating Circle’s bid categorically stated that Circle’s finances were “unrealistic”.

BBC Report http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cambridgeshire-19437484
3 days ago BBC buries news of failure http://www.dailyshame.co.uk/2012/10/satire/circles-hinchingbrooke-hospital-fails-bbc-buries-the-news/
What’s it like at Hinchingbrooke?
BBC during PR for the hospital, forgot to mention the 18.7% rise in complaints since Circle took over, the 50% rise in sickness absence since Circle took over (because they’re LOUSY EMPLOYERS), the fact they’ve slipped from 1st to 19th in the patient satisfaction table, and C-difficile deaths have climbed by 166% since Circle took over (probably because they DON’T WASH THEIR HANDS? I don’t know, just speculating).
Well ConservativeHomeBlog doesn’t see any problem. The ‘Lefties’ are telling lies again…..http://conservativehome.blogs.com/thetorydiary/2012/08/will-hinchingbrooke-hospital-and-ies-breckland-detoxify-profit.html
Hold on, didn’t I hear they want to flog some of the hospital land? Tories LOVE flogging public land. There’s that housing development in Wales that Richard Harrington was involved in a few years ago ……..
Richard Blogger says Mark Simmonds MP is paid by Circle Health. No wonder he visited the hospital and spoke in ‘glowing terms’. http://nhsvault.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/hinchingbrooke-double-fail.html
Jeremy Hunt is quiet lately. The health brief a little difficult to get your head around Jeremy?
