An ONCOMIR (also oncomiR) is a MicroRNA (miRNA) that is associated with Cancer. MICRO RNAs are short RNA molecules about 22 nucleotides in length. Essentially miRNAs target certain messenger RNAs to prevent them from coding for a specific protein.
