Speaking on Sky News’ The Pledge, Carole Malone has claimed the German Chancellor has fractured Europe with her policies.
She said: “The mood is changing in Europe and it is changing because of Mrs Merkel’s immigration policy to let a million plus immigrants in.
“It’s caused chaos, it has changed cultures overnight in some countries.
“There are 11 populist parties across the EU and all of them have more than 20 percent support.
“You guys would have heard of the historian, Niall Ferguson, he said this week ‘Italy’s populists are the future, Merkel is the past’.
“What Mrs Merkel has done with this open door policy she has fractured Europe.
“It is ironic, she has actually split Europe.”
