Michael Hawkes-Southern: Not just no pay rise – We’ve had real-terms CUTS. A nurse at the same stage of their career as me ten years ago would be earning 14% more. That’s £315 less per month before shift allowances. To me that’s the difference between no savings, living month to month with few luxuries and one budget holiday in ten years, versus being able to live without having to worry about getting into debt at the end of every month.
