Even three quarters of TORY voters back 50p top tax rate in new blow for Chancellor Philip Hammond
- An overwhelming 77% of those questioned – including 76% of Tory voters – said he should plug the £2billion black hole he’s left with by raising the top rate of income tax from 45p to 50p.
- Today’s poll also shows three in five people want Philip Hammond to increase corporation tax on company profits from 20-25%.
GW: Hammond made a bad call on NICS for self-employed and now he has taken a bad position on not raising the top tax rate to plug a 2 Billion spending gap. He needs to take a hike. It’s obvious that after the OsborneShambles, the UK Electorate wanted Hammond to stop p*****g about & get things sorted out quickly and he hasn’t done it.
