Kathryn goes on to say …
The comments are a complete fabrication and highly defamatory. Mr Clarke has never been involved in any incidents of this kind. He was not involved in Cash for Questions – at the time he was a Minister and therefore could not ask questions. He is firmly heterosexual. Like most parliamentarians he vaguely knew Ian Greer but had no dealings with him. The most charitable interpretation is that it is a case of mistaken identity
So Ken only ‘vaguely knew’ Ian Greer the Lobbyster. Well Well. Mr Clarke ‘considered legal action’ in 2012 apparently. Kathryn how can one mistake Clarke’s identity?
Wkii Clarke states
‘Clarke sought election to the House of Commons almost immediately after university. He began by fighting the Labour stronghold of Mansfield in the 1964 and 1966 elections. In June 1970, at the age of 29, he gained the East Midlands constituency of Rushcliffe, south of Nottingham, from Labour MP Tony Gardner. Clarke was by 2005 one of the longest-serving of all MPs.’
That’s at least 50 years Kathryn. None of the electorate would have any trouble IDing Clarke. Cigar smoking and corpulent. Easy peasy.
