Doctors send a letter in support of state-funded schools.

‘A letter from cardiologist Dr Aseem Malhotra, another surgeon and six named GPs states: “As GPs and surgeons who all started their education at state-funded schools, we are proof that Maria Hutchings’ assertions are not true. The education system in this country provided us with the knowledge and skills we needed to follow our dream career.

“It’s such a shame that Conservatives like Maria Hutchings want to do our education system down instead of sending the message that whatever your background, you can achieve what you set out to do in life.”‘

Earlier this week, bestselling author Mark Haddon accused the government of dismantling the NHS and publicly backed the newly formed National Health Action Party.  Mark Haddon, who shot to fame with his best-selling book “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time”, about a math genius with Aspergers Syndrome, said:

“The present government is dismantling the NHS and quietly removing our universal right to free health care. Astonishingly, none of the main political parties seem bothered. The National Health Action party is the only party genuinely committed to standing up for the NHS”.

Telegraph wonders about Maria Hutchings’ chances in Eastleigh and about the ability of Grant Shapps to ride ‘Shotgun’ for her ‘walkabouts’.  Comment – Who is he today?  Mr Green?  No er  Mr Blue?
